Although most swimmers choose to swim indoors during the winter months, there is also a group of people who like to turn to winter / ice swimming. With like-minded people, we experience this special form of swimming, often at temperatures around freezing. What ice swimming brings to you is mental strength, resistance and the ability to put things into perspective.
Although the program focuses on all levels, this also offers the advanced ice swimmer the ideal opportunity to prepare for an ice swimming competition under expert supervision.
From October to February, swimming sessions are held in the 50-meter outdoor swimming pool De Waterdam, Edam / Volendam from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM.
Training with or without a wetsuit is permitted.

Saturday, January 16, 2021 from 4 pm the Ice-Mile.
Sunday January 17, 2021 from 10 a.m. We start with the 1000 meters and then the following distances 200, 50, 100, 500 and 4 x100 relay teams.
Registration is closed.
Participation in these events is always at your own risk.
The organization reserves the right to cancel the swim challenge / competition if the safety of the participants is at stake.
Hereby the registration fees are not returned. If the water temperature is above five degrees, the event will continue as usual, but the times will not be recognized.
Video recordings are made at this event. When you participate in this event, you give the organization permission to use images (photo and video) and MYLAPS results that you are on for communication purposes.
This Ice Swimming Volendam / competition is organized under the auspices of the IISA NETHERLANDS.
